Today's post is a review on the Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation. I've been testing this foundation over the course of the past month and I'm basically just going to list everything down below.
Finish: The foundation has a matte finish although I do recommend using a powder to set it if you have oily prone skin, as it will help the foundation to last longer. I suggest using a translucent matte powder as a powder with coverage can make you look a bit cakey.
It definitely looks like you are wearing makeup with this on, it is not a natural looking base! Keep that in mind if you are thinking of purchasing this. It is a heavy base and is meant to be full coverage.
I wear shade NW13 and it is a great match. I was matched in store which I highly recommend.
Coverage: Like I said above it is a full coverage foundation although you can sheer it out for a medium or light base. It covered my redness and did a pretty good job at concealing any blemishes. It didn't settle into any fine lines or my expression lines on my forehead.
Staying power: I found that this foundation lasted well on my skin for a good 9 hours, making it perfect for long days at work, school, going out etc. However I did notice that when I primed half of my face it lasted better and there was significantly less fading on that side. By 9 hours the foundation had started to fade on my cheeks, around my nose and a bit on my forehead and had started to cling to some dry patches on my face.
Overall I think the Studio Fix Fluid is a great high coverage foundation with long wear and a nice finish. I don't mind that it is matte because it doesn't make my skin feel dry. The packaging is really lovely and sleek although I'm disappointed that there is no pump especially for the price! The scent is a bit like sunscreen, but you can't smell it once you have blended in the foundation. You get 30mL in the bottle, so an average size for a foundation bottle. It didn't break me out, but I don't think it would be good to use on your skin on an every day basis, just because it is so heavy.
