What a month June has been and where did it go! I managed to
escape the Australian winter for most of this month spending 16 days in America
and now 8 days in Malaysia and Singapore. The past few weeks have reminded me
how much I love travelling and exploring different cultures. I have my dreams
set high to travel the world one day and live in another country for a while.
Being in America means a few things; of course travel, food
and sightseeing but makeup! Makeup is ridiculously expensive over in Australia
so I took this opportunity to stock up on a ‘few’ items. Maybe I went a little crazy but hey I’ve found some new
favourites, and that’s always a bonus.
A new brush favourite of mine is this gorgeously fluffy tapered
blush brush by Real Techniques. I never use brushes for what they are actually
meant for and the same goes for this one. I prefer to use this brush for
bronzer. It gives some precision but makes blending a dream.
I swear every beauty blogger has this and for good reason.
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue not only provides a creamy light weight base
that evens out your complexion, providing light coverage, but it also has an
SPF of 30. It sits lovely on the skin, doesn’t look cakey and is perfect for
school and no makeup, makeup days and makes your skin glow and look healthy.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
I finally managed to pick this bad boy up after hearing so
may good things and it has lived up to my expectations. Perfect for concealing under
the eyes and because I got a shade lighter it helps to brighten up the area. I don’t
like using this for blemishes as other concealers I have do a better job, but
boy it is so good for under the eyes (if I haven’t said that already!) I also swear this has reduced the dark colour under my eyes but now that I just properly read the label it says treatment and concealer. This really is a miracle product!
Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara
Long time beauty fav right here! Just like its name says it adds a tone of volume and lengthens the lashes too. It isn't clumpy which I love and the brush helps separate the lashes. It also lasts for a very long time and doesn't fall under the eyes.
Victoria Secret PINK Body Mist in sweet & flirty
I'm a sucker for body mists. They are just so easy and fun to spritz throughout the day which is what I've been doing for the past 2 weeks, and only used up the smallest amount. The scent is fresh with a little bit floral and fruityness, and a sweet kick. It is not a strong scent because its a mist so you can go all out spraying yourself.I can't even begin to explain how much cheaper this was in the U.S. and I'm so excited to finally have it! Benefits legendary Hoola bronzer is perfect for contouring because there is no shimmer, it's completely matte. The colour is perfect for my complexion as I sculpt out those cheekbones haha. Well pigmented this product is hard to fault and I love the little brush that comes with it. Finally a good brush in a makeup kit unlike those little foam ones.
EOS Lipbalm in Summer Fruits
Once again another product we do not have in Australia meaning I definitely had to get a few. And my favourite is the summer fruits. Very moisturizing and the packaging is so cute. There's two lipsticks that I'm loving at the moment and they are M.A.C's Capricious and Revlon's Peach Me. Both very wearable shades and that is why I love them so much. Neutral, sheer shades definitely lack in my lipstick collection so these two new additions will be getting a lot of wear, especially because it's now the holidays and they both suit all kinds of occasions. The M.A.C lipstick is a berry tone with red undertones. It has a sheer satin finish but it's colour can be built up. It's not super long lasting but that doesn't really bother me. The Revlon shade is a peach colour as the name suggests and it has more of a pearl finish. It lasts longer than Capricious and is slightly more pigmented.
Hope you enjoyed!
