Lets Do Something #3

The other night I discovered an app called Geocaching while watching a YouTube video. I was intrigued so I downloaded the app... And what an amazing find, it is so cool!

Geocaching is like treasure hunting. There are over 2 million containers hidden in 185 countries! You make an account and discover caches around you. The app gives you hints, information on the cache and you can see other people's comments on that cache. The caches range in sizes, usually small and extra small. In each cache is a logbook where you record your name and date, and some caches have small items that you can trade. I was super excited to find that there were 3 close to my house and instantly knew this would be a great idea for my 'lets do something' series.

I had lunch with my friend yesterday at a lovely burger place. We caught the bus close to a cache, and I'm going to be honest it was really hard. Someone had found it the day before and it was an easy difficulty but after looking for 30 minutes and racking our brains on the hint we gave up and walked 1km to another park using the app to guide us. Might I add that it doesn't use WiFi, Bonus!
The first place we looked we found the cache in a tree. It was in a mint tin. We were so excited and I quickly filled in the logbook.

We got the bus back to the train station and parted ways. On my walk home I went past two cache spots. I looked around for 5-10min each and tried not to look like a weirdo, but I did get a few weird looks! No luck with those caches so I continued my walk home.

After a fun day catching up with my best friend and exploring I am super excited to go Geocaching soon. So soon I have booked plans with my friends to go Geocaching tomorrow...obsessed much!

Trust me you won't regret it. I've got many friends and my sister hooked.

Yeterday was a lovely day and is exactly what I wanted for the 'lets do something' series. Having fun outdoors exploring places, with little planning and just going with the flow.

So get Geocaching folks!
