Art Express 2015 - Amory, Newington

Be prepared for a long post:) [mostly photos!]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As promised I am sharing with you photos I took of my favourite artworks from the Art Express 2015 Exhibition at the Amory. All photos were taken on my phone so the quality is not the best.
Take a look at my previous post which I explained more about my day and art express.
Personally this artwork was my favourite because I appreciate how much time, effort and frustration went into creating a truly inspiring and gorgeous post-modern artwork. Although all the artworks in the exhibition showed creativity, talent and lot of time and passion went into all body of works.
Some photos of the Amory, a truly breathe-taking destination:
Golden Egg - Lush
I decided treat myself tonight and use my last Lush Easter item, and boy was it a good one.
One word - GLITTER.
Lots and lots of glitter. The Golden egg is a combination of a bath bomb and melt. The outside layer is creamy, glittery and moisturising, and well the inside is bath bomb mostly for aesthetic reasons. Everyone loves a bath bomb, right?!?
The gorgeous egg smells like a mixture of honey and caramel and has left my skin super soft. Not going to lie it turned the bath bright yellow, and sought of like pee. Anyway, we can talk about how amazing it looked before it reached water.
A favourite for sure and a definite re-purchase for next year. Now all I have to do is clean the glitter coating on the bath and relax, smelling the classic Lush toffee scent.
And all you have to do is scroll down in awe at this gift sent from above, errrh it's so amazing!
(see what I mean about the 'bright yellow water', haha)
Weekend Post #2
First off sorry for not posting in a while it’s been a difficult week, but I am now ready to get back to regular posts, and I have a big line up. This weekend was another exciting two days off school.
Saturday was Anzac Day and Australians and New Zealanders celebrated 100 years since the ANZAC Forces landed in Gallipoli to fight for our country. This is a day were we are proud and honour those who fought for our country and pay our respects. We made Anzac biscuits in the morning, which are one of my favourite biscuits. The delicious smell filled the whole house.
Later in the day my family and I headed out to the city to watch our Rugby League Team (Roosters) play against St. George. Both teams are one of the oldest teams in the competitions. This game is played against each other every year on Anzac day, one of five Anzac rugby games played across Eastern Australia and New Zealand. This is the first time I have been to the Anzac game. The beginning ceremony was really lovely with many tributes to the soldiers. The National Anthem was played, followed by the last post, and a minute silence.
Unfortunately the Roosters lost, but it was a close game with a low score of 14-10. During the first half of the game, the clouds came and rain started to pour. The game was only postponed when hail started to pelt from the sky. After a massive storm in the first 3 days of the week, we thought the rain was over. Sydney Siders got a slight taste of ‘snow’ as the city and suburbs were coated in hail which looked light snow. It sure made for an interesting sight and day. The game resumed after the worst of
the storm had passed.
On Sunday I went to Newington with my mum to see the Art Express Exhibition at the Amory. Art Express is combined of five exhibitions around Sydney, comprising of top HSC art major body of works, (artworks).
You may have seen an earlier post a couple months ago when I viewed an exhibition in the city on opening day. Now on the last day I saw a second showcase. Again the artworks were of very high standard and were really inspiring. As an art student it can be quite overwhelming looking at really good examples of what I will have to produce in Year 12, but for now that is two years away and I have a long time to think about my body of work.
It was a rainy morning so we decided to head home after viewing the artworks, instead of our usually stop at the Amory Wharf Café. A post of my favourite artworks will be up soon, so stay tuned!
Now tonight I will be doing a lot of homework and work on assignments and assessments- fun!
Hope you have a lovey weekend.
Weekend Post
This has been my last week of the school holidays and a nice couple of days before a busy term starts.
On Saturday I started the morning umpiring two games of netball. It was the beginning of the winter sport season and I was a little rusty. It was good getting back into netball after the summer. Later I went out for dinner with my family to an Italian restaurant called Anema e Core. The food was really lovely and took me back to my trip to Italy.
On Sunday I celebrated my Grandma and my cousin's birthday. Max turned one and wasn't in the best spirits. He is usually a very happy boy, maybe he didn't want to be one! The night consisted of me finishing an assignment due Monday.
The cake was made by Max's Grandmother and it was massive!
It was a lovely weekend and while I type this on a Monday evening I'm wishing I could go back after a very sad start to the week.
This means I cannot use the ‘t’ and ‘]’ keys anymore, making it quite difficult to type. Long story short I have to paste t’s when typing and have been doing a lot of back-spacing!
Now after all of that ranting we’ll end on a good note.
I hope you are having a lovely day or night depending on where you are. Comment below what time it is where you live. It is exactly 12pm here in Sydney, Australia.
26 Hours in Orange.
Here are "some" photos from my short trip to my Grandparents farm in the country. A new litter of puppies were recently born, so you have been warned most of the photos are of puppies!!!
I'll let the photos do the talking.
We stopped at Hartley on our way up to the farm. We often come to this cute cafe/restaurant with a lovely view. I had a gelato while we looked at the views and the beautiful weather.
All five puppies sleeping together!
Apparently this is a comfortable position to sleep!
The beautiful autumn leaves at Lake Canobolas.
Baby Aish is no longer a baby, she is all grown up. Well sort of, she was the runt of the first litter so she is still quite smaller than the other doges from the first litter.
Following three photos are of Twitch. Isn't he so cute.
Sabell is the only girl of the litter of six.
Most of the time the puppies were sleeping hence all the sleeping photos. But oh my gosh, they are just too cute!
Gorgeous sunset to top off a lovely stay!
Loved spending some time up in Orange seeing my family and all the dogs. While I was up here there were 12 dogs on the farm. All the dogs are Blue Cattle Dogs except my cousin's dog, Amber.
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
