Febuary Favourites!

It's time for another monthly favourites. February has mostly been taken up with the start of school and it's not even that busy get. I'm so not excited for march, I have 7 assessments due in a two day period. Not only that but summer is no longer with us Australians. Bring on Autumn!
At least I have something to look forward too, I'm going to see Miranda Sings/ Colleen Live.

The sun has been going down earlier which is like one of the things i hate most. When it's dark by 5 I fell like the day was just over like that and I feel so unproductive.

Anyway enough of my rambling on February ending lets look at the things that made February better.

Sephora - Head to toe hydrator

Ok I know it's 'summer', was I should say but this really is an amazing moisturizer. Not only does it moisturize your body but if your hair is really dry you can put some of this into the bottom half of your hair every night and you will notice a difference. Now that my hair is pretty short and healthy I don't need it for my hair, but a couple months ago my sister's and my hair was in the most awful condition from lots of travelling. This was definitely a life saver and I'm so happy I have more of this stuff from Australia's first Sephora in Sydney.

The Body Shop - Body Butters in Mango & Strawberry

can't go a favourites with out something from the body shop can I. Honestly this is just a good affordable brand with lovely products. I've been loving using this gorgeous smelling body butters on my legs to make them extra soft and smelling great!

V05 - Heat Protect Styling Spray

I am still getting used to styling my new hair and I have been using more heat than usual so this is another life saver. If you use heat on your hair you definitely should use a heat protectant to save your hair from the damage heat does to it. The only thing I do not like about this product is the smell but it's not that strong and I think I can get over it.

Hourglass- Opague Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera

I have been on the hunt for a nice orange lipstick and finally found one I am happy with. I was a bit of a splurge but I am glad I have it. It has a matte finis so it can be a little drying on the lips but a little lip balm underneath does the trick. The name really describes the product, because it is so opague and does not go anywhere, ANYWHERE! I even have trouble taking this over at the end of the day and if you don't believe me yet, I wore this to a concert where I was rained on, covered in other people's sweat, beer and chaos. It didn't go anywhere!

If you are Australian you can purchase this from Mecca

Lush - Rock Star Soap

I'm so addicted to this soap that this is my back up bar. I just finished my first bar of this and boy it is so nice. The smell is so heavenly and sweet. Not much really to say except that it does the job and smells amazing.

Chapstick - Classic

I go through these lip balms like nobodies business.

Again not even winter but I always have to have this with me at all times. To be honest I should really buy more of these for every bag and pocket I own. So moisturizing, smooth and I love the smell. I don't think the smell will be everyone's favourite and it took me a couple days to get used to it but I don't think I will ever use another lip balm, and that is saying a lot cause I love my lip balms.

Fav Food - Yogurt and Chia Seeds

This my be a bit random but it's what I have really been loving this month. Just a nice refreshing bowl of yogurt topped with a teaspoon of chia seeds. Make sure to let the chia seeds soak into the yogurt for at least 10 minutes before eaten. If you are like "what the heck is she going on about, what are chia seeds", then where have you been! They are the latest supper food craze, I feel so silly typing this like I know it all. I'm not into all the different health foods out there but give chia ago its great for your body even if you just add a teaspoon a day into your meals.

Artist - Babara Kruger

I first discovered Kruger when I saw the exhibition Pop to Popism. I saw the artwork above and made a mental note to look her up later. I love her art, it's unique but at the same time it is definitely Popism!

Go check out more of her artworks here

Music

M83 - Midnight City & Outro
These are my favourite songs from the album. I have been listening to the same two songs for around a year and I never get bored of them so I thought I would share them with you. I love to listen to these songs especially when I catch the train to school in the mornings. It just helps me relax.

Jessie J - Masterpiece
A newer songs none the less i'm obsessed with this songs, my favourite from her latest album. I find myself singing along to this song where ever I am opps.

Have a lovely day!

Afternoon Art

This afternoon I felt like having a nice relaxed afternoon and I decided to share with you the quick sketch I did for my Duke of Ed. I really just like taking time out of my week to properly relax, listen to some good music and do some art, all while drinking a delicious banana smoothie!

Art Express 2015

After I saw Pop to Popsim with my family we went upstairs to a different exhibition which is on every year. Art Express is a collection of the best Year 12 HSC artworks exhibited around NSW. Occasionally we go to the biggest and most popular exhibition in the city (at the Art Gallery of NSW) but we make sure to go to the exhibition at Newington every year.

I am sharing with you my favourite artworks from this exhibition. All the students did a fabulous job and credit to the two Year 12's in my school that were selected for Art Express this year.

Wall of HSC VAPD insights! (visual arts process diary)

(sorry I don't have the artist for this artwork) These images are part of a several piece artwork.
He incorporated famous art pieces into his artwork including, Rene Magritte's 'Castle in the Pyrenees'.

The Girl Who Mistook The Wood For A Hat - Keira McLoskey

Mankind's Creation - Mia Eve Carey

Subsumed - Alexia Psaltis

Apprehension and Psychic Tension - Ruby May Weir

Nevermore - Emily Sheard

Below The Surface - Grace Chaplin

The Theory Of String - Barney Swan

Once Again, The Facts Have Been Erased - Gabrielle Homes

Sorry I do not have the artist or description for this artwork but the artist photographed the locals of Bondi Beach and making them the stars instead of the iconic beach, which everyone takes photos of instead. It is a four part artwork.
