Back again with another DIY! Ever find yourself with a stash of jars and don't know what to do with them? If yes then keep on reading because most of the materials needed, you probably already have lying around. So dig out those jars and lets get D.I.Ying
Things you will need/already own:
- Glass Jars
- White Paint
- Paint Brush
-PVA Glue
- Rock or Epsom Salt
- Glitter (optional)
- Hairspray (optional)
Step 1: Put some white paint onto a surface and...
Paint a thin layer on your jar. Let dry for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Pour out some glue and like the paint, brush on a medium coat (enough for the salt to stick, depending on the type of salt you choose to use).
Step 3: Roll in salt and cover all sides. Make sure not to glue salt to the rim or bottom of jar.
Step 4: Add glitter if you would like now!
Step 5: Keep adding more glue, salt and and glitter until you are happy with it.
Step 6: Leave to dry for at least 2 hours. I left mine for about 6 in the hot Australian sun just to be sure. And if like me you want to be extra careful, spray with hairspray to lock in the glitter and salt.
There you have a cute glowing votive for Christmas or all year round. Pop in a tea light or a battery operated flame and you are finished. You could make lots of these all shapes and sizes and put them together for a super cute center piece or mantle display.
Christmas is only two days away so I hope you've been singing those Christmas songs and watching classic Christmas films. No posts until after Christmas so I wish you all a very merry Christmas spent with friends and family. Don't forget the true meaning of Christmas is to spend quality time with those you love + eating lots of food. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
