December Favourites!

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing some things that I have been loving this month - December. But honestly where the heck has the month gone. I say this every month but this month by far has gone the quickest and I am so sad that Christmas and the festive season is over, at least we have the new year!

I noticed towards the end of the month these items that I have loved and been really useful so here they are:

Batiste Dry Shampoo in fruity and cheeky cherry!

This has been great when your hair is a little greasy and let's face it you couldn't be bothered to wash your hair + it also smells great! I got mine from Big W for only around $10.

Victoria Secret Body Mist in Love Spell Untamed!

Described as forbidden apple and indigo woods. This warm scent has a beautiful fragrance but it isn't to strong, just perfect for every day. The packaging is gorgeous so classy and sophisticated. I have been using this almost every day and I love it so much.

Jessup Make up brushes!

I ordered these about 2 months ago and they came in around 3-4 weeks, so though the shipping did take a while is was well packaged and there was a cute little note on it saying that they hope I enjoy them and best wishes, how cute!
And I got to say for the price of these brushes they are pretty bloody good! I got the white and gold set of ten for $15 and $3 shipping. So for almost $20 it comes with 5 face brushes that range from flat top kabuki, angled and rounded, and they are 5 smaller brushes that are the exact same for eyes and concealer etc.

My two favourites are:

Round angled
Excuse the pink tinge to the brush but that's because this brush is so perfect for blush and I was too lazy to wash the brush for this post... opps! The brush itself is very soft and picks up product well. I have washed them twice and no problems at all. For the price I am very impressed and that's why I wanted to try them out after everyone raving about them. I have linked below where I bought my set from.

Small round angled
Ooooo don't you just love that crisp gold and white 'cause I do! Now I love this brush because it again is perfect for blending out eye shadow. Because it is angled it gets in the crease and does an excellent job at making saw your eye shadow game is on point!

You can buy these brushes in a sets from here: http://www.ebay.com

Garnier BB Cream!

Another beauty favourite but this BB cream from Garnier adds just the perfect amount of coverage (light) for those days when you don't want a full face of makeup and with some concealer for the under eyes and blemishes it makes your skin look healthy and radiant. Lasts for about 7-8 hours if set with powder. Doesn't feel heavy on your skin at all and doesn't oxidize, which means oxygen won't react with the BB cream making it orange, dry out or lumpy.

Forever New Clara Shopper!

New favourite bag. It has heaps of space and looks amazing. I am very fussy with bags but I had been eyeing this beauty for months and I got it for my birthday yay! I love the stripped details on the front and the small gold plague. If you haven't noticed already I am quite obsessed with white and gold at the moment. I like shoulder strap bags so I thought maybe the strap on this bag would be too small for my liking but it couldnt be more perfect. It holds absolutely everything from clothes too books and large drink bottles, it is just what I needed. Goes with every outfit and is definitely a staple.

Look at all that space, it really does hold a lot!
Two open pockets on one side and opposite to that is a zip up pocket. Right in the middle is a large zipped pocket.

Sorry this item is now discontinued but you can purchase similar styles here: http://www.forevernew.com.au/bags-handbags

Artist: Chet Faker
An Australian musician he became quite popular in 2012 and since more and more people have continued to enjoy his music with his lastest release, his iTunes session on the 28th November 2014. I am looking forward to see him live next February, can't wait!

Thinking in textures (album)
My favourite song from this album is I'm into you

Built on Glass (album)
Favs from this album is Talk is Cheap and 1998

Homemaker Drink Bottle Blender in green!
Since we got this I have used it nearly every day and it has been so handy. I wake up in the morning thinking what to eat because I'm not a breakfast person, but this makes me want one for breakfast lunch and dinner. You put all your ingredients in the bottle making sure not to go over the line, then screw on the blender lip, match up the arrows and lock it in. After the press of one button you have a delicious smoothie/juice, and you can add the other lid and turn it into a drink bottle. It is amazing and I get my milk and fruit in for the day + it tastes delicious if I haven't already said that.

For my smoothies I just like to add in a cup of milk, fruit usually a banana or a mango, a teaspoon of honey and three ice cubes. So easy and it fills you up!

I hope you enjoyed looking into what I was loving this month and thank you for taking the time to read my blog! This is the last post for 2014 and I am looking forward to what 2015 brings. Truly am grateful for you all and I hope you have a Happy and Safe New Year!

See you next year!!!  xx

Party Planning - Part 3 (Decorations)

So a quick post but before I get into it I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you had a lovely day none the less!

This is the third post in this series and if you are new then this series is about how I plan a party and the elements in making a memorable night! Hope it helps and maybe you will get some inspiration.

My party was a couple of weeks ago and as you can imagine a very busy time of the year. Honestly where did December go! The time flew past me and before I knew it the party was very close so it wasn't exactly how I would have liked it, it was only a small party for my birthday but it was the first day of the holidays so a great evening to end the school year.

This post is on the decorations and like I said before the time flew by and I didn't get to make most the the decorations so it was quite minimal. When having decorations you need to think about where they will go according to where people will be and around the food area. If its inside then most decorations will be suitable but in m case it was outside-ish. Leading up to the day if was storming everyday and was likely to rain on the day.Lucky for me I knew I could use the garage for the food area and a place for people to hang out. It did rain but all was well as the decorations were all under cover and everyone was dry. The cake and dessert was inside after we rushed everyone inside before the storm got heavy.

Little labels for each snack!

Black and Pink balloons! You can never go wrong with balloons right.

I spray painted these cute little frames gold and added a picture of Daisy and Gatsby which I found on the wonderful internet! Plus some pink ribbon because if you haven't noticed my theme colors are pink black and gold.

Put up some pink and black streamers around the garage and on the patio

Last minute I threw together this table piece of pink flowers, white ostrich feathers from eBay and some twigs I found in my garden, which I spray painted gold. We used a plastic table cloth that was white with pink diamonds and it pulled together the table.

Lucky last for outside we bought these cute pink pom poms. Really inexpensive purchase from the party store and can be used over and over again for many occasions. The great thing about them is that they look great and after the party they can be folded down and stored away.

So there you guys go some quick ways to decorate for an event and on a budget too! Hope you all enjoyed and I will see you soon for some December favorites!!!

Pop to Popism!

If you live near Sydney or coming for a holiday between now and march then listen up!
The Art Gallery of New South Whales has a new-ish exhibition called Pop to Popism which is an amazing collection of over 200 artworks. Pop art is a form of art that became highly POPular (arr see what I did there) in the early 1960's. This type of art was a way for artist to rebel against traditional art and introducing advertisement, celebrities and pop music into the wonderful world of art.

Head over to the Art Gallery of NSW for more information: http://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/exhibitions/pop-to-popism/

This looks like an spectacular exhibition for those of you that love art. Even if you aren't the biggest arty person I think you would love this. So many bright colors and bold shapes. It really is a unique form of art. Ahh I sound like I am fan girling right now and well truth is, I am!
I can't wait to go with my family and I will make sure to get some great photos to share.

Gift Wrapping #2 - DIY

Quick post. One more sleep till Santa comes and hopefully you have wrapping up the presents by now but I thought better late then never for this post huh.

So for my presents this year I got a few rolls of wrapping paper, some twine, an assortment of ribbon and I made my own tags from a free template by Lia Griffith. If you would like the same ones click here .

Lay out your materials of paper, ribbon, tags, sticky tape, scissors and anything you would like to add. I had a lot of presents to get through so I went for a minimal but effect approach and I was really happy with the turn out.

The twine gives the glamorous paper a more rustic but chic vibe.

Boxes are the easiest to wrap. Just fold the sides over and follow these photos for the other two edges.

For ribbon I measure across the width of the presents times four plus extra for the depth and the bow. You will get the hang of it after a few goes.

How cute is this present. Silicon ice block molds, just perfect for little ones and older kids in the summer!

Co-ordinate the ribbon to match the paper. I had a few colors too choose from; pink, purple, blue, silver etc. which I matched to the paper and the person receiving the gift.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
