Party Planning - Part 2 (Theme)

Hello Everyone!!

So If you saw my second last post then you would know what this little series is (Party planning) but if you didn't then don't worry it is pretty much just, party planning. I am having a party soon an I decided to share with you all the planning process.

Okay so I probably should have done this post first but oh well. When having a party its fun to have a theme. I choose to have a Great Gatsby themed party. So to get into the mood and full of inspiration I watched Baz Luhrmann's movie adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald's, The Great Gatsby. I love this movie just because of the fashions, music and the creative way that Luhrmann produced this film. Although some may argue nothing much happened and it was a bit boring, who cares when the sets and actors were on point. This for me is what truly made the film. So in light of this I want my party to be memorable, fun and of course in my budget, because lets be real now no one has millions of dollars to spend on parties except Gatsby himself.

Once I decided on this theme I went looking for inspiration.....

I love Pinterest and I created a board especially dedicated to everything and anything Gatsby/ 1920s.

If want to check it out:

Disclaimer: None of these photos are mine and I do not claim them to be. All rights go to the owner of the original photo. For all links to original posts you can find them on my pinterest board linked above.

I used this board for inspiration, Pin-inspiriation!

These photos gave me great inspiration for food, decorations and DIYs. Having this board really helps when I am stuck for ideas I can always have a look at it, and sometimes I'll just go on it in class when I am bored!

So after all that rambling from me about how much I LOVE Pinterest, the theme is very important and is the spine for your party and everything that you have to plan for it. So have a go creating a board on Pinterest, sketch ideas or even create a mood board- cut out photos and use materials and place on a physical board. Fuel your imagination even if you are not having a party!
